Ages and placement
Lessons Designed Around the Student
Private instruction is available for students beginning at six years old.
Students are placed at the Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced level at the teacher’s discretion. Placement is based on the complexity of music the student is capable of playing rather than age alone.
This allows each student to receive instruction that is appropriately challenging while supporting steady, confident progress.
What each lesson includes
A Balanced Musical Foundation
Theory & Technique
Lessons combine music theory with scales, technical exercises, rhythm, sight-reading, and interpretation.
Broad Repertoire
Students explore music ranging from Baroque and Classical literature to Jazz, including opportunities to learn improvisation.
Performance experience
Concerts and Music Festival
Three to Four Concerts Each Year
Regular performances give students meaningful goals, build confidence, and help them become comfortable sharing music with an audience.
Michigan Music Festival in March
Students have the opportunity to participate in the annual festival. Approximately 90% of Tatyana’s students earn a score of Superior, with a 100% success rate.
Preparation with Purpose
Repertoire, technique, musical understanding, and stage readiness are developed together so students can perform with confidence and artistry.
